Key functional role in implementing OTM planning and tendering for Starbucks’ domestic inbound & outbound
Domestic Outbound planning / tendering implementation in OTM
- Project Lead and primary OTM functional for implementing outbound shipment planning and tendering
- This project involved changes in OM ( EBS) , integrations ( A2A, B2B), WMS ( Manhattan ) & OTM
- Lead requirement gathering sessions to capture requirements from different business units / DCs in Outbound transportation space

Domestic Inbound planning / tendering implementation in OTM
- Implemented carrier & supplier portals and related supporting OTM workflows
- Designed external access authentication using F5 to validate non-Starbucks users outside Starbucks network before logging them into OTM application
Transportation 3PL integration for Outbound shipment execution
- Primary functional to lead the requirement gathering / design with 3PL for executing outbound shipments

Highlights of OTM functional enhancements implemented as part of multiple projects
- Design EDI connectivity and customized email tenders from OTM. EDI connectivity included 204-shipment tender, 990- tender response, 214-shipment status messages and related agent workflows.
- Spot market– Designed functionality to manage spot market using email tenders and carrier portal
- Usability enhancement to provide shipment tracking for domestic & international shipments
- Designed workflows to alert users with icons / images for shipment status updates

Constant analysis of the supply chain processes to identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains and cost reduction through the use of Niagara’s TMS (OTM). Major initiative include :
- Re-design transportation network by aggregating lanes in OTM to reduce carrier’s demand variability
- Provide ability for carriers to update delivery appointments using EDI 214
- Optimize direct to store shipment execution through use of OTM’s multi-stop improvement functions
- OTM configuration to reduce spot exposure by optimizing drop carrier capacity
- Setup enterprise wide testing process for major projects -> order creation in ERP to shipping in WMS
- OTM configuration to use EDI 214 for tracking outbound loads, detention charge approval
Major responsibilities during project rollout includes
- Document functional requirements
- Design of system changes ( includes OTM , BPEL integration , EDI , ERP )
- Create project plans and effort estimates
- OTM configurations in test and production
- Collaborate with teams for implementing changes in other internal or external systems
- Create training material for internal and external users and conduct training sessions

Design and IMplementation of N-Line Inventory Management System (Also focus for thesis):
Designed and deployed Inventory Management System for N-Line Traffic, Bryan, TX using RFID technology. The system consists of RFID tags on N-Line warehouse assets, in-house built software and Motorola MC9090 RFID Handheld to check-in/checkout items.

Project Leader (Dec’07 – Jul’08)
Provided enterprise application solutions to GE Commercial Finance for 5 distinct global projects to improve the Fleet maintenance system. Was responsible for SOP ( Statement of Purpose) , budgeting , resource planning and execution along with project exception management Lead a project for GE Fleets – France worth $1.2 M with globally distributed team to client satisfaction. This project involved modification in processing of Fuel cards by GE’s French customers to allow the usage across multiple countries in Europe.
Business Analyst (May’07 – Nov’07)
Comprehensive analysis of the enterprise system hosted on UNIX which used by one division of GE Fleets – Iceland to enable migration into European universal system. Gathered business requirement and created functional requirements to enable enhancement of GE – Europe Fleets enterprise system.
